Reminiscences

The Verses of 'Manaache shloka' are unfailing, like Rama's arrow
There was a retired engineer who had diabetes. The ,„,„. of sugar in his blood had risen up. As a remedy for this, every Sunday and Thursday he used to take meals only after taking injections of insulin. He used to take the (injections himself. He met ShriMaharaj and told him about his ailment. Upon this ShriMaharaj said, 'The two hundred and five verses of Manache Shloka*  by Samartha Ramadasa are like two hundred and five injections for the mind. Hereafter, learn one shloka by heart at the time of taking each injection, and reflect upon it till the time for the next injection. Take up the next shloka at the time of the next injection. At the rate of two injections per week, you will have learned one hundred and four shlokas in a year. When two years have passed thus, all the shlokas from Manache Shloka will have been assimilated. When your mind receives the injections in the form of the verses, the sugar in the form of love of worldly things will be automatically under control. This will be of great help in attaining God.'

I read that Insulin was discovered as an injection in the year 1921.
I have a question as to how a person with diabetes mentioned to Shri Maharaj about his taking insulin injections much before (in the year 1913 or before) the discovery of insulin injection actually took place. It is my kind request to verify the exact details of this episode & I hope, you too will agree.

I just read about insulin that it was actually discovered (as an injection) in the year 1921. If this information is true, then I've a question as to how a person with diabetes mentioned to Shri Maharaj about taking insulin injection much before (year 1913 or before)the actual discovery of insulin injection.
Could you kindly verify the accuracy of this episode or explain about the discrepancy?
Thanks.

The moral of this story is very good. But I just read that insulin as an injection was discovered not before the year 1921. If this information is correct, I wonder how a person with diabetes in the year 1913 or before took insulin injection & mentioned the same to Shri Maharaj.
I think we need to get clarification for this discrepancy.
Am I correct?

Dear Shri Mahesh,
I hope you have heard of Shri Tatya Saheb Ketkar Maharaj, who was such a devotee of Shri Maharaj, that he could not tolerate the absence of Shri Maharaj when he left his mortal coil. His prayers were so ardent,Shri Maharaj gave him darshan and promised him to be near him always. With Shri Maharaj's advise, a planchette (Peti) was prepared. And whenever Shri Ketkar Maharaj sat before the Peti after the due Pooja, holding his hand on the peti, It was Shri Maharaj who spoke through him. Devotees ardently believe that it was actually Shri Maharaj who spoke through him. Many devotees discussed their problems with current topics, and Shri Maharaj gave solutions to all of them.
Shri Ketkar Maharaj left his earthly body in 1965.This Particular dialogue and many more, published in Reminiscences and Pravachans are collected not before 1913. They are collected later on through Shri Ketkar Maharaj's Peti sessions.
Fortunately,we have a few recordings of Shri Tatya Saheb Ketkar Maharaj's voice during peti sessions, which are published in this blog under:Tatya Ketkar Maharaj. It is in Marathi.
Thanking You,
