A question from a reader:

- One question. Shri Shankaracharya preached keeping Veda's as the base. If one has to take sanyasa to give up all the wordly matters. But neither Shri Brahmachaitanya maharaj nor Brahmananda maharaj did not take sanyasa. Neither they have preached shruthi's and smriti's. Shri shankaracharya is jagatguru. How can one deviate from what Jagatguru has preached?
I wish an erudite scholar answers this question.
However, an attempt.is made here to explain.
Vedas are not against marriage . Vedic mantras are chanted during marriage ceremony. Vedas contain prayers asking Gods many comforts. So, it does not preach Sanyas to eveybody.
The great Shankaracharya resurrected Hinduism. He was an incarnation of the Lord Shankara himself.
He took Sanyas. He is called as Shankara Bhagavatpada,. no doubt he is a Jagadguru. But he did not advocate Sanyas to everybody.
He preached namasmarana. Remember, Bhaja Govindam Bhaja Govindam Govindam bhaja moodhamate! ....
And his other prayers are very devotional..
Sadguru Sri Brahmachaitanya Maharaj never preached against Vedas.
But, he demonstrated that the supreme knowledge can be achieved even by a Grihasta (Family man).Taking Sanyas is a difficult task and everybody cannot do that. Even so called sanyasins are not free from the worldly attractions
Shri Maharaj has told many times that taking care all the family responsibility, one has to be unattached in mind.
And he says this can be achieved by chanting God's name (namasmarana). Sri Brahmachaitanya Maharaj and Sri Brahmananda Maharaj did not take Sanyas but they were unattached to the worldly attractions and they were true Sanyasis.
Please read the everyday pravachan of Sri Maharaj, given in this blog. Or you can get the book of Pravachans in any Shri Brahmachaiatanya Mandirs.
